What's the BIM ?

Over the last few years, the digital building model (BIM) has become the new way of thinking about buildings, from design to demolition.

Why IFC

cadwork ?

Created to improve productivity, BIM is essentially based on capitalising on the know-how of all those involved in the construction of a building.

cadwork has always adopted this BIM philosophy of intelligent design, where each volume is associated with geometric, production and economic information.

For more than 25 years, cadwork has been making it possible to design digital mock-ups in its 3D modeller, helping the designer with tools designed for him.

BIM (Building Information Modeling) is a new stage in the process of making digital mock-ups available to all construction trades.

In the end, the aim is to design an even more comprehensive digital model that includes not only structural, but also architectural, thermal, climatic, electrical and other information.

IFC Import and export

in cadwork

Thanks to the IFC Import/Export module and the IFC language (universal data exchange format used to convert a native format into a universal format), cadwork is able to import architectural data.

This will enable you to rely on your architect’s design, with no errors in entering dimensions or reading plans. Each player can then benefit from the expertise of their collaborators and capitalise on their own know-how in an ideally unique file.

3D elements from architecture, steel structure, concrete structure or thermal calculation software are imported directly into cadwork.

Once production is complete, cadwork enables you to transmit your data to the global digital mock-up using the IFC language.

In order to comply with the BIM process, only information from cadwork needs to be exported to produce the structural and production part of the digital mock-up.
