Chapelle Saint Louis Et Sainte Zélie Martin – Basilica of Sainte-Thérèse-De-Lisieux

Outstanding project

Lisieux

Development of an English courtyard bordering the south side of the Sainte-Thérèse-de-Lisieux basilica (a listed historic monument) with a view to building a chapel.

The timber frame, forming a dome, is made up of 51mm-thick spruce laminated timber beams supporting a curved glass roof (metal glass roof).

An inner counterform refines the centre of the structure. The resulting lace effect allows natural light to flood in.
